Varini, Karim (CFA & CEO -Hedge Invest Suisse)

Karim, Swiss citizen, was appointed Managing Partner of Hedge Invest (Suisse) SA in July 2006 and is Founding Partner and Member of the Board of Directors. Karim is Member of the Board of Directors of the HEGDE INVEST GLOBAL SICAV PLC and the HEDGE INVEST SPECIALIST SELECTION SICAV PLC.
Before co-founding Hedge Invest (Suisse) SA, from 2000 to 2006 he worked as quantitative analyst and fund manager assistant for One Investments (Lugano, Switzerland), advisors to the Antares European Fund (named Best 2006 Equity Europe Hedge Fund over $500m AUM by EuroHedge). Prior to joining One Investments, he also worked as risk manager in Banca della Svizzera Italiana (BSI, Generali Group), one of the oldest and biggest private banks in Switzerland.
Since 2001 Karim has written articles on the Hedge Fund industry and has participated as a speaker in alternative investment seminars. He is a member of the Ticino Finance Fiduciary since 2006 and also a member of the relative disciplinary body (OAD FT). He graduated with the highest honours in Business Administration and Corporate Finance from Bocconi University (Milan) in 1997, and he has been a CFA® charterholder since 2003.
