Howells, Christian (Head of Investment Specialist – Aberdeen Standard Investments)

Christian Howells is Head of Investment Specialists for Aberdeen Solutions, the home for multi-asset and specialist alternatives investing within Aberdeen. Previously, he was a product specialist in Aberdeen’s Alternatives division, covering hedge funds, private equity, property and infrastructure. Christian joined Aberdeen Standard Investments as a result of the merger between Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life in August 2017. Christian joined Aberdeen in 2010 via the acquisition of various asset management businesses from Royal Bank of Scotland where he was responsible for over $1bn of Private Equity and Real Estate fund investments. Before moving to the front office, Christian oversaw the administration of RBS Asset Management’s alternative investment strategies and, prior to that, was a manager in the product risk and regulatory risk departments in Coutts & Co.

Christian graduated with a BSc in Microbiology from the University of Bristol.
