GALEA, Michael (Managing Director – Calamatta Cuscheri Fund Services)

Mr. Michael Galea is the Managing Director of Calamatta Cuschieri Fund Services Limited. Having been at the helm of the Company since 2010, Michael oversees the daily operations of the Company and is the clients’ first point of contact on all matters. Over the years he has developed an in-depth understanding of Malta’s fund industry structures and as such is also very involved in the structuring of client fund operations. Michael sits on a number of Committees within the Calamatta Cuschieri Group of Companies as well as for clients covering the areas of investments, portfolio management & risk management. Prior to joining Calamatta Cuschieri, where he also set up and ran the Treasury Department for a number of years, Michael was Head of Markets & Investments of a local wealth management Bank where he was directly responsible for all areas relating to international financial markets & treasury operations. Mr. Galea also has a background in corporate finance having worked with one of the Big Four audit firms. Michael holds a B.Com (Hons) Banking & Finance degree as well as a Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Malta.
