Ottobre 26, 2015 3:08 pmJens Brunke is Managing Director at CM-Equity AG in Munich and responsible for the portfolio management of the CME Gold & Silver Equity Fund. Also he acts as Authorized Officer for CM-Equity. After his business studies in Augsburg (Germany) and Berkeley (USA), Jens Brunke had leading positions in portfolio management, equity analysis and corporate finance for 13 years, including 8 years as managing director. Apart from his comprehensive expertise in portfolio management, he has a broad network to companies and investors around the world. At the beginning of his career Jens Brunke started as Equity Analyst on stock listed companies at LBBW (Landesbank Baden-Württemberg). Main focus was on Tech and Logistics. In 2004 he started his first company which was focused on advising investment funds and asset management companies. He also acted as portfolio manager for a Munich based independent wealth management company (Gebhard & Co. Wertpapierhandelsbank AG). At that time he began to invest into public and also private companies with a main focus on the mining industry. Jens Brunke was also involved in more than 30 investments in private companies (from seed to later stage investments) and over 6 M&A deals mainly in the resource and energy space. Through his activities he built up an expertise and extensive know-how in the mining sector. In 2011 Jens Brunke joined CM-Equity AG. He took over the portfolio management department which he started to restructure. On June 7th, 2013 CM-Equity launched the CM-Equity Global Natural Resources Index in cooperation with Solactive (SLA5CM). The index is focused on natural resources (energy, industrial metals and precious metals) including all parts of the life cycle of a resource company (exploration, development and production). The index includes 60 equally weighted stocks and is rebalanced every 6 months. Since September 21st, 2015 Jens Brunke is responsible for the portfolio management of the CME Gold & Silver Equity Fund. Especially the creation and implementation of the selection criteria is based on the know-how Jens Brunke collected over more than 10 years in the mining sector and was first successfully implemented in the CM-Equity Global Natural Resources Index. In the whole downturn of the market there was not a single insolvency in the index but 13 companies out of the 60 have been taken over or merged. Jens Brunke is frequently interviewed by media (Germany, Austria, Canada) on natural resources. He has been on various site visits including countries like Finland, Sweden, Albania, Germany, Honduras, Nicaragua, USA and Canada in his career. In 2005, when acting as portfolio manager for Gebhard & Co. Wertpapierhandelsbank AG, Jens Brunke won the „Depot Contest“ of DAB Bank, n-tv and Capital for managing the best portfolio of 40 Asset Managers in Germany. Performance of 54.98% in one year.
